I’ve had two different versions of this product running in my house for many years (10+) and have been very please to see no pests. We accuse our pest control person of bringing the occasional bug with him.I bought this 3 pack to give one each to two friends and save the third for my self.My kudos to the manufacturer, it was a great idea to add the electrical outlet to the side of the unit.Everyone should have at least one of these in their home.

In August I moved into a house out in the woods, didn’t have any mice until the weather got cold then I saw signs in my garage. Set up 2 snaptraps with peanut butter, caught 2 in 1 trap the first night and the other trap had 1 as well. I picked up 2 more traps and in the next 11 days I killed 16 mice total in the snaptraps, all in the garage and I could see they were getting in between the garage door and the jam. I plugged 1 of these in the outlet in the garage then ran an extension cord and put one right in front of the gap they were getting in from. I had 2 more mice in the traps the day after I plugged them in but I haven’t had one since and it’s been about 2 and 1/2 weeks mouse free. I found a box of dog biscuits on a garage shelf, it looks like this is what they were going for so I got rid of the box and plugged these devices in on the same day so I can’t say if it is the sirens keeping them away or the lack of food. They do click every few seconds but I have them out in the garage so it doesn’t bother anyone.

Works wonderfully.Very easy to use.

My father bought these in 1998 after he saw then in an issue of Handyman magazine to get rid of mice in the basement. I didn’t have mice but I had roaches. I took the issue and ordered a set. Since then, they somehow disappeared or I gave them away. Now my problem is houseflies, due to bad storm doors, and lo and behold, they’re still the same quality and effectiveness as the originals. You can see the flies trying to escape the sound because they gather at the windows. By the next day, they dropped dead so you can just sweep them up. You don’t lose a plug because there’s one on the side.

I purchased Riddex Sonic Plus Pest Repelllers( RSPPR) about three and a half weeks ago and I must say that I was rather skeptical but I was kinda at my wits end. I live out in the counry. I was catching the mice on the glue traps but I did not like handling them with the mice on it and After a day or so the mice would go around the glue traps some how. So before I purchased the RSPPR I had captured about nine mice on the glue traps in a period of 2 weeks. I got the RSPPR on a Friday and placed them stategically within my 2300 sq. ft. home and about a week later I had captured only two mice on the glue traps that remained out. By the second week I was startled by a mouse running across my foot trying to get to and exit. Three weeks laters I don’t see dropping. I don’t hear them in the walls. Although I did not purchase it for the spiders I saw a decrease in the spiders as well. I gave it four stars because I purchased Pepperment Oil as well and put it out on cottonballs so I’m not 100% sure that the oil did not help as well but over time the scent of the oil dissipated but I still have not heard or seen any mice in about a week now. I think that making sure that the entire home is covered gives a better chance of the rodents not just escaping to another area of the home that is not within the covered range.

Hard to say if these sonic repellers work or not for sure. From my experience, we were having a mouse problem for a couple of months. These mice were so brave, they would come into my bedroom and look for food although there was none. Mouse traps were setup but for the 1st month didn’t catch a single one. After we discovered the we had a mouse issue (mouse poo, food wrappers opened, etc) we started to clamp down on their food.During phase 1, we kept food on our kitchen table for awhile until we found out that there was a nearby plant that they climbed up and then leaped on to the chairs and onto the table. If there were bags on the chairs they could climb up that as well. Read that mice can jump up to 18 inches. Got rid of the plant and stopped hanging bags or clothes on our chairs.Phase 2 – put all our food not in the covers into plastic bins. Worked but we didn’t realize we had other sources of food lying around in the house such as goody bags and such.Phase 3 – scoured the house and got rid of all other food sources. Now with the food sources mostly secured after about 1.5 months, we caught two mice. We didn’t know how many mice were in the house but we suspected quite a few. We knew they were living in the garage awhile and migrated upstairs. With the food secured, we experienced the worse mouse violation of human rights. They found a way into our refrigerator!!!! DISGUSTING!!! So next day, I duct tape all possible holes inside that I think they could be coming in from. And to my shock, the next morning, found evidence of mouse poo inside again. Did a closer inspection and found that the rubber seal on the bottom of the refrigerator was broken – had to be their source of entry (even if so small). Well duct taped the seal back on and surrounded the refrigerator with a moat of glue traps.About the same time received these sonic repellers – plugged two of them in the house and one in the garage. Caught one more mouse in the moat surrounding the frig. And after plugging in the 3 repellers and catching that 3rd mouse have not heard a peep upstairs from the mice although we almost heard them nightly. Pretty sure we have more mice in the garage that could have come upstairs too if they wanted to.So from my experience the repellers seem to work. But could it be too that we finally cleaned up all of our sources to rid the mice including maybe catching their 3 main scouts? Can’t tell for sure but it’s been a week now and I haven’t heard a peep from the mice.

This device has saved me thousands of dollars on pesticides and servicing companies. We were inundated with the “water bug” aka the 3 inch flying roach. They really don’t like this device. My problem solved!

I likes the overall price from this product and so easy to install.just plug it in and within 7-days – I have started to see less and less of the little critters in my apartment.Living in in the suburbs you might see mini spiders, and centerpiece . But with this product I see almost none and it’s been insect free for about 2 weeks now. My apartment is quit small so it works well, if your home / apartment is larger in size I recommend purchase a few more items depending the square footage of your living space. A+ Product

I have had horrid ant issues for years no amount of bug spray worked, I have has these up for awhile and minimal ants, mainly if I skip dishes for a day…. seems to work surpirsingly
Anna Brown –
The units were very easy to plug in. I had another squirrel in my attic. Within 2 days I haven’t heard it. The red light blinks, which is the only complaint. I had to position them in my bedroom better so I couldn’t see the light flashing while falling asleep. So far they are working.

This absolutely works! I was very Leary in buying any of these products that keep the insects away. All the reviews that I read were so mixed and didn’t didn’t want to waste my time with trying to return something that didn’t work.My house had crickets so bad and I had tried over five pest control companies and NONE of them could get rid of my crickets!I was so desperate to try something because I couldn’t stand the thought of seeing or hearing another cricket in my house that I bought this product and I have now been using it for about two weeks and It was money WELL SPENT!!I have NOT SEEN or HEARD a cricket in my house since I plugged the little devises in.I am so happy that I got these and I have and would recommend this to my friends and family in a minute…

Has helped when some mice invaded. I’ve tried another such item before that was ineffective. This one worked and we are mice free

I kept getting geckos in my condo. I had an older Riddex device & plugged it in the living room & no more geckos. However, I found one in the kitchen & my bedroom. So I ordered a 3-pack set, put one in each room & knock on wood, haven’t seen any more critters.
Robert Martinez –
Love this, no more spiders in my bathroom!
Mike Garcia –
Someone told me about this product and how wonderful it was. Have seen less mice. I also use a mixture of plastic of Paris and sugar equal amount. May have to put 2 in a room instead of one.

Easy to use. Bought for somebody.

It keeps mice out of my house!
Mike Smith –
Right now I still see a few bugs .

After a bad neighbor moved in next door, rats became a problem, and I have tried just about everything. Poison bait didn’t work, sticky traps did when placed correctly, but our dogs sometimes got stuck as well, not to mention personally I thought the sticky traps were cruel. Snap traps, again dogs. My dad found these online and wanted to give it a try because of field mice on his ranch. He said they worked and so I gave them a try. 1DAY!!! I may have gone a little overboard using 6 for a 1200 sq ft home when they supposedly work 1 at 1000 ft, but I don’t care. They worked! I don’t even hear them in the walls. I cannot explain just how much of a relief it is!
Sarah Smith –
Hoping this product continues to help pest control situation in house.

So far so good! I am using three Riddex sonic repellers with two small Victor Sonic repellers (that also conduct electrical pulses in wiring in walls) in a medium-sized 1 bedroom apt in a very old building (house built in 1842!) after a huge mouse & insect invasion occurred from Hurricane Irene. I am very impressed with the way these products really do seem to work. The clicking sound emitted from the Riddexes is very faint (the Victors ‘buzzz’ lightly, but these ‘click’) and the clicks vary in rhythm so it is easy to tune out, and doesn’t disturb my sleep at all (as long as I keep reminding myself its not the sound of a dripping faucet! lol – that took some getting used to – kept looking for the drip) but seriously, I am amazed that it seems to have worked as well as it did . Even seems to have gotten rid of some extremely persistent carpet beetles that have been there since time began. I am also happy to report it does not affect the signals on any of my electronics, or bother my pets, either. Got a good deal on them too, just when I really needed the break! Thanks. M.L.

I am sorry to leave a long review. My father recently has gotten new neighbors. Along with them cane the bugs and things from their previous place. So i decided to try and keep keep them out but they got WORSE. At first I would see 3 or 4 in about a 2 months span time. After having them plugged in I started seeing at least 10-15 every week.. It feels like they have food or desired treats for pests and put them in the product to attract them. Along with this we put traps down, used culk along the walls, spray, and clean. They got worse. Everyone has a different experience but mine was awful. Bought 6..
John Miller –
The product kills the roaches and has an electrical plug on it, so you don’t use up all your plugs. One thing I do not like is the constant flashing of a red light. It would be better if it was a solid light.
Robert Smith –
I have had this product for over a year now! I had a terrible infestation of mice. I was catching one every night in my sticky traps but they all appeared to be babies. I couldn’t seem to catch the adults. So I began looking into other options when I came across this. I had one of these years ago when I lived in an apartment. I bought it as a preventative measure and it worked great so I figured I would give it a whirl. The first night I plugged them in I did catch one mouse but since then (over a year later) I have not caught a single one. And I do still have traps out. The product does make a small clicking noise but you get used to it and barely notice after a while. I have a 2 story house with a full basement and a full attic. I plugged 2 in on the first level and 1 in an upstairs bedroom and it seems to be keeping the whole house clear. Love it!!!
Sarah Brown –
But then you have to find out how they are getting in the house!
Anna Garcia –
Great price on quantity.

I’ve had the Riddex Sonic Plus Pest Repellents for a few months now. and In the last month or so The amount of mice caught in a traditional snap trap has been reduced greatly, We Followed the directions as it said for at least the 1st week to leave the traps out We set out 4 the first night alone we caught 3, then each nice after that we caught at least 2 for the last few weeks we’ve caught none. Last winter We may have caught 3 all winter long. I do know I have at least one mouse still in my house as it runs down my baseboards it won’t run on the floor any more I have 2 traps in my room for it but when its running the baseboard its hard to catch it. the only noise that is emitted from these repellents are a small clicking sound when the power light flashes on/off after a while you just don’t hear it any more because you get used to it. I was told not to use the sonic repellents because they hurt the dogs ears and would hurt my birds ears, my dog and birds are unaffected by it and I have one plugged in directly across from my dogs food/water dishes and its beside the doorway to my birds room. I’m very satisfied with my purchase. I refused to ever use poison again I did that a few years ago and thought I was being safe by putting them in the crawl spaces of my basement but I was wrong when a mouse brought the poison pellets up stairs and dropped it into one of my birds food dishes and my bird got a hold of it and died within in the hour of eating it. and I hate using snap traps for the same reason my birds could get in them but we take extra precautions to make sure the birds and the dog can’t get to them. But hopefully now that I have these next winter maybe I won’t need snap traps at all.

I bought a 3 pack in 2015 right here on Amazon. Plugged 2 of them in and pretty much forgot about them. I had ants every summer in my kitchen and den; tried everything, they wouldn’t eat the poison and just stepped around anything I sprayed. For the first few weeks, I didn’t think these things were working, but then no more ants. They’ve been gone for 6 years now even though I can step out my front door and see dozens of nests along the sidewalk and drive.Gave the spare to a friend who lives in the country. His wife’s a good housekeeper, but he’s a slob. He plugged it in by his TV chair where the ants congregated for all the crumbs he spills, and now they’re gone (he’s still a slob).I don’t know how these work, but the ultrasonic sounds must really upset ants. Can’t speak for mice, have a cat who handles that, but for insects I can say these really do work. Picture is of the kitchen unit; plugged in continuously for 6 years, still going.

The plung in Pest con trol works great. Within a couple of days you will notice that the design is safe for human as well as pets. Easy to you just plug it in the wall, there is no smell.

I purchased these after evaluating existing reviews, cost, size, … I had an occasional mouse in my garage and basement. But, how do you really know if they are effective? My backyard has a 60 foot Oak tree and is like grand central for squirrels, chipmunks, and rabbits. I plugged a unit into the outlet on my patio a week ago facing the backyard to give it a good test. The next day after work, there wasn’t a squirrel in sight. I still haven’t seen any squirrels or chipmunks. The rabbits still come and go. I unplugged the unit two days ago to see if the wildlife would return. They haven’t shown back up yet. I assume that eventually they will figure out that the obnoxious device is gone. At which point I will put it back on the patio.I’m convinced, at least for now.

Due to some old windows, started having a roach problem as they discovered the dry pet food. tried several pesticides and roach spray became a locked fixture on the grocery list. I keep a clean house and roaches are disgusting, they started infesting despite my best efforts to spray all doors/windows/access and everywhere I saw them nesting save the pc desk where I can’t just hose down with sprays. the tablets seemed to feed them, they ate them all as their numbers increased. these were my last ditch effort before considering having the place tented and gassed.Instructions say you’ll see results by 7 days. By day 2 I’ve seen results. where You could walk into the kitchen, flip on the light and see them scattering everywhere, by day 2, you’re lucky to catch 1 or 2. some closet doors that aren’t used often became bad nesting spots, now they’re clean and clear. the pet food trays used to feed roaches as much as pets, now I can move them and not see 1 bug. My desk is now pest free. They work amazing and that’s from someone that was ready to throw in the towel after fighting infestation for months. I’m ordering another set for the upstairs. there’s no food up there whatsoever, but better safe than sorry. There was also a spider web in the corner I left alone because hey, eat roaches, you’re helping me out. I noticed today the web is completely vacant and I finally took it down. at this rate I’m ready to start having company again. For the price, a great investment and plan on ordering more with a goal of having one in every room, just so this place becomes hell for pests.

This product seems to be working as promised. I know I sleep better at night now that I have it plugged in.The slight clicking noise takes a day or two to get used to, but it a much more comforting sound than the pitter-patter of little mouse feet. I only gave it 4 stars because I can’t be a hundred percent sure it was the sole reason the pest problem seems to be cured. I did put out several other sprays and home remedies” to add in the swift removal of the problem. But am fairly sure it is a big help.”

My husband and I live in a 5th wheel trailer full time and with the weather getting colder, the mice started moving in. I tried traps and other things but if I killed one mouse another would just move in in its place. We were getting desperate and thought we would give these a try. (I have tried something similar in a house before with not good results.) Riddex Sonic Plus did and continues to do the trick! No more mice! I don’t know if they work so well because we are not in a typical house but I love them and would recommend them to anyone!Update: These devices worked great in our trailer. Recently we moved into a house and had some rodent activity in the walls. Not sure if it was mice or squirrels to tell you the truth. Once we plugged in these devices the rodents left. We have one in each room and they seem to do the trick just fine. Haven’t seen or heard any rodent activity in over a month.
Anna Brown –
I don’t know if the repellers are working right because I have 7 or 8 of them and I still see evidence of mice. Sometimes it’s just a bit and other times its more than a bit. I made sure they weren’t blocked in any way but still I have mice. Maybe you can give me some advice or information on what I’m doing wrong. As you know I have tried other products and didn’t have any luck with them either. I can’t put poison out because there are a couple of feral cats that moved in recently and I don’t want to kill them. I would appreciate all the help you can give me.
Daniel Johnson –
This is the 3rd set of Riddex Sonic bug repellents. My original set lasted 20yrs. The second set was given to a friend, so now this set will be mine. I had a home with telephone wires running from the poles to my house. These wires brought rats, squirrels, and other vermin into the attic. I bought my first set at that time. I placed them in each story of my house. It was difficult at first because all manner of ants, roaches, and other bugs were everywhere, but within the month, I never saw them again, and I no longer had rats or squirrels in the attic.
Mark Smith –
Bought these little buggers with very low expectations, that were not at all raised when I opened the box to see 3 very diminutive little boxes. Went ahead and plugged one in with a smirk on my face, only to have it slapped off that very night. I’ve got a very old house, and there’s nearly no way to keep mice out completely, and this was a particularly cold, fierce winter. Well, one of these little Riddexs’ cleared out part of my kitchen (big, eat-in type), and a second took care of the rest of it. Haven’t seen a mouse since plugging these babies (no pun intended) in. Only reason for 4 instead of 5 stars, is the effective range. One simply did not cover the entire room. Otherwise, HIGHLY recommend these and would buy them again.
John Williams –
I heard about this from my neighbor, it kept the mice and bugs away, before 1 year though they started appearing again so I decided to purchase the smaller ones that come in a pack of 3 and after a week or so NO mice NO bugs for me or my neighbor.. I do hope these will last longer..apartment living is difficult to keep these things awy.
John Garcia –
After placing this divice in the kitchen there has not been not one sign of insects on the kitchen specially roches.
Emily Miller –
I had squirrels eating their way through my attic from the hole on the rooftop. After applying 2 of these electronic devices, I do not hear any more squirrel activity in my house. Also repaired the rooftop. At this point, it is uncertain the squirrels are truly gone. I wait for the cold months of winter to confirm this, when the squirrels will want to nest for shelter in a warm attic. I suggest plug it in for 3 weeks, then unplug it for 2 weeks, then plug it again another 3 weeks, so the pests do not get so used to it, they become comfortable. I have 2 cats, and it does not affect them.
Daniel Davis –
I had a big nest of rats living in the crawlspace under my house. Poison would kill one batch, but another would just move in. Terminix would come and work their magic, but the rats always came back. They wouldn’t touch traps of any kind. I have a 1,000 sq. ft. house and I plugged one in in the garage, one in the guest room at the other end of the house, and one in the living room in the middle. Within a week, I couldn’t hear or smell the rats any more! Can’t say how they work for bugs, as I never had a problem with those. But I am VERY satisfied. The click that each one makes is audible. Mine click about once every 7 seconds. It is about as loud as a dripping faucet or a ticking clock. The red light is pretty bright, but since it isn’t in my bedroom, these features don’t really bother me. And even if they did, they’d be better than rats!
John Davis –
We purchased these awhile back, so we have had plenty of time to try them out. We live out in the country and we were having issues with rodents. I placed these in different areas around the house and honestly, I don’t really think they helped with rodents, but they did help with other small insects. I like the new design that have the side outlets, very convenient. I don’t have to plug and unplug the pest repellers to use my outlets. So, I would say if you have any problems with roaches or small insects these might be your answer, but anything bigger, I’m not really confident they would help.
Jessica Williams –
I wish theyd improve without flashing light that is so annoying day & night. I wont order again
Sarah Jones –
I have had these pest repellent units for 9 months now. I notice that I am not seeing bugs like I use to. It has been really hot here this summer and I saw a large flying roach the other night in my bedroom. It was moving slower than normal and it was easy to catch. I am hoping that it is due to these Sonic Pest Repellers. I live on the bottom floor and don’t have a lot of foliage around the house but bugs always found a way into my part of the house. This has changed since I started using the Sonic Plus Repellers. I plugged them in and let them do their thing. No sound, no smell, nothing for pets to get into or small children. Easy and chemical free. Happy I tried them, they seem to be working for me.
Mike Miller –
Bought a couple years ago. Mice/Rats under & in walls of double-wide manufactured home (permanent foundation). Put in rooms & under house combined with Peppermint oil purchase. It seem to move the mice/rats to different area the first year (heard them chewing wood still). This year though none, zero, haven’t had a single problem. Peppermint oil kept them from leaving I think (burrowed further in rather than out since I used oil by access panel dumb move). Once they are gone — this product kept them from coming back.
Emily Miller –
We had a situation with (as far as I am aware) one mouse. I would spray foam under the cabinet, and the mouse would tear up the foam overnight, and this went on for about 4 days straight. Which drove us crazy! Hubby bought these, I thought was a waste of money, but I plugged them in anyway. The mouse came out to tear up the foam partially one more time, and then did not come back. We hoped the neighborhood cats had gotten to it. I figured it was safe to unplug these, and I was wrong. It’s a good thing that we had the standard snap mouse traps also, because we caught him that same night that I unplugged these sonic pest repellers. I plugged them back in, just in case there are any more mice. I’m very surprised and now a believer that they really do work! Thank you!
Anna Miller –
I like there are no buttons to worry about. Just plug it in. I guess it will take a couple weeks to see if they get rid of pests
Mark Hernandez –
I like this product. Seems to be doing the job it is suppose to do.
Anna Garcia –
So far a little disappointed. I just got the devices and put them in first thing. Has a cute red blinking led even. However it is the second day since install and I come home and one of my snap traps has a mouse, less than a 3 feet from the electronic device. I thought these had a 1,000 sq ft effective range. Maybe I am missing something.Update: one of the plug ins didn’t work so I contacted the seller, they immediately sent a whole replacement. Amazing customer service. They get a 4th star just for that. I have heard they are sometimes not effective against mice, but other critters they are. Some people have been say theirs is fakes, here’s a pic. I doubt it’s not made by Riddex. It clearly has the branding on it. I doubt a company is willing to deal with the lawsuit for including the branding.
