New for 2021! Twice the cooling power of original Arctic Air

  • Cools for Comfort and Relaxation
  • Humidifies for relief from dry air
  • Purifies for pure cool air
Description

animationNew for 2021! Arctic Air ULTRA is the improved personal space cooler that turns hot spaces into cool places, keeping you totally comfortable for just pennies a day, now even better with twice the cooling power!

Arctic Air Ultra is self-contained and lightweight, so now you can have cool clean air anywhere – a hot kitchen, watching TV, or even in the office. Arctic Air Ultra lets you create your own personal comfort zone.

Just add water and press the button to enjoy the relaxing cool breeze. The secret is Hydro-Chill Technology that uses an evaporative air-cooling filter that pulls in hot air and instantly transforms it into cool refreshing air! The digital thermostat gives you precise control, and the fan is whisper quiet!

Arctic Air Ultra takes hot and dry air and makes it cool and moist. It’s Freon-Free and doesn’t use any toxic coolants. Other AC systems use a lot of power to try and cool an entire house or building, which is very costly, but this personal space air cooler only consumes the same power as a small fan.

If you’re deciding to buy or not like I was, here are few points. This is not an A/C. Don’t expect it to cool of room or make ski slope snow. It is personal desk fan. Once you accept that, you can decide if you want it. I like it and I’m not disappointed.First let say that evaporative cooling is a myth. It does exist in theory, but in real life is totally inefficient. What you get is a mini humidifier and desk fan with the added benefit of vapor mist. The vapor mist is the part to experiment with. Freezing the filter did not show any help. Keeping it wet is just fine. The reason is that in hot room ice melts right before your eyes. That also applies to water in the reservoir. Standing water warms up rather quick in a hot room and defeats the cooling idea. So the solution that seem to help is filling the reservoir with just enough water to keep it from running dry. Maybe quarter of the tank or less, and keep adding ice instead of water. Seating in front of fan in hot weather feels good, and keeping the water cold makes cooler breeze. You can also put little bottle cap with scent inside the unit and have room freshener. My favorite is peppermint oil. I run it at low since the fan is noisy on high setting and I want just a breeze, not a tornado. When it becomes really hot I turn on A/C, but for spring weather that fluctuates from hot to cold this thing is just fine.

I bought this little thing after reading a lot of the reviews and setting my expectations appropriately. This is not going to be a personal AC unit. I have it a few feet from my desk on a shelf pointed right at me and every couple hours or so I have to take it to the sink to dump out water and add more ice. I live in So Cal with the dry heat so that’s humid environment is not an issue. It does feel cooler than the ambient air. Tested with a temperature gauge, ambient room temp was 82 and the temp at the vent of the device was 74-77ish. Again, not chilly but less than 82. Likewise it’s not going to cool the room, it’s just blowing some slightly cooler air directly on me.Bothering with the cartridge seems more like a hassle so I’ve just been using it with ice water. Added tip: If you’re going to use ice, fill the water slightly under halfway then add the ice. As the ice melts you can add a bit more ice once or twice without overfilling it or needing to dump some water out first.Good product. I may buy one or two more if/when they go on sale for cheap again.

I bought this in 2022 when I was living in an about 200 square foot studio. I put ice in the tray, froze the filter and it did not cool me off at all. At least, no more than my fan at the time. BUT, that was because I was using the item under the wrong expectations.I needed an AC to beat the heat wave and the high humidity. I packed this away and bought an AC on Facebook Marketplace for $50.Fast forward to 2024, and I am now in love with this thing! I’m in a new apartment that’s basically in the attic. We’re currently in the midst of another heat wave. I have my AC running full blast, but there are areas where they just don’t have a wide range of affect. Which unfortunately consists of my bedroom.Enter this baby! I once again froze the filter and added in some ice water and am enjoying the cool breeze blowing directly into my face. I have this right next to the head of my bed and it makes all the difference. It is important to note that this is not the only fan in my room. I have 2 more on the left and right hand side of my bed, so I get a nice circulation going. The Artic Air is not the primary reason I no longer overheat at night or wake up sweaty. What it is, is a good cog in the machine. It is a great PROXIMITY cooler. I think if you want to get the most bang for your buck, you need to measure how well it will cool like a 1-2ft area. For me, I just needed it to cool my head and pillow.I’ve had another mini fan in the same place I now have the Artic Cooler. The Artic Cooler is better. I’ve used the cup of ice in front of said mini fan. The Artic Cooler is more efficient. It’s compact. It’s easy to clean. I can easily move it to my work desk. It’s handling the current 86 humidity tonight. For $40, this thing is worth it. But it’s worth it to effectively cool that 1 to 2 feet area. Please note I am using this with conjunction of:+2 ACs in the Living Room on Full Blast-(My Living Room is about 10ft away in a straight hallway)+2 Fans on the Left and Right Hand side of my bed. Also running on Full BlastThe Artic Air Cooler was the missing piece of the puzzle I needed to keep myself cool. It will not cool a room on its own. It just picks up the slack while your actual AC and/or Fan does the heavy lifting. If you want to purchase this item, you need to have a good expectation of what it can do. And I hope my review puts it’s quality into perspective.

It works ok, but kind of bothersome to have to refill it with water/ice….bought it to cool our bedroom, but it isn’t really big enough to make a whole lot of difference in the room temp…works ok as a ‘local’ cooler though….

Got this for guest bedroom since my central air doesn’t cool that room, it does help

I recently purchased the Arctic Air, eager to escape the sweltering heat of the office. Overall, I must say that the cooling performance of this compact personal air cooler is quite impressive. However, my experience did come with a minor hiccup upon its arrival.Upon unpacking and setting up the Arctic Air, I noticed that only one of the water spraying mechanisms was operational. Initially, this was a disappointment, as I expected both mechanisms to work seamlessly. Despite this setback, I decided to give it a chance and see how well it performed with only half of its water-spraying power. To my surprise, even with only one functional mechanism, the Arctic Air managed to cool my space efficiently. The single working spray provided a noticeable drop in temperature and created a refreshing atmosphere. The device is easy to use, with intuitive controls that allow you to adjust the fan speed and cooling settings to your liking. One of the standout features of the Arctic Air is its portability. The compact design makes it easy to move from room to room, providing relief wherever it’s needed. Additionally, the low energy consumption is a bonus, making it an eco-friendly option for those conscious of their energy usage. While the issue with one of the spraying mechanisms was a bit disappointing, the overall performance of the Arctic Air exceeded my expectations. It’s a testament to the machine’s resilience that it can still function so well even with a partial malfunction. In conclusion, despite the initial setback, the Arctic Air proved to be a great investment for beating the heat. Its cooling abilities are commendable, and even with only one functioning water-spraying mechanism, it remains a reliable and effective personal air cooler. I would recommend the Arctic Air to anyone looking for a budget-friendly, portable cooling solution for small spaces.

This was a good value to offer quickly cooled air flow during peak summer months. Do not expect a vast coverage range, this is likely just for a single person’s immediate area, and move a couple feet in either direction from the vent flow and its affect is rather negligible. That being said, it is great at what it does, we keep ours on a bedside night stand. Simply putting ice from the freezer in the water well at top of the unit every hour or so will keep a nice stream of moist cooled air blowing. The fan is variable, so to reduce extemporaneous noise, I suggest a lower mid range setting, and after fiddling with it, figured out how to change light colors from the default blue, and usually just turn off the LED light to make a room darker for sleep. We considered getting a second one to move around the house, or just put on the opposite nightstand on other side of our master bedroom just so both of us could optimally enjoy cooled moist air and customize our settings.

I got this for a neighbor friend and he likes it alot he is happy he paid for it because I’ve been telling him to invest in this for 3 years he finally did and is happy it’s a real thing now

There are a couple new features that I liked and with the severe heat wave where I live, decided to order a 2nd Arctic Air. What I like in the new one: The plug in is located near the top back of the cooler (the old one is bottom rear and I always worried that it might leak water and hit the electric plug), water input is easier to deal with and the unit holds a tad more water than the old one. They basically work the same and the new one is placed near my computer to keep that area comfortable. I have not put the filter into the freezer as suggested so don’t know if I like that or not. Still using the old one near the floor for my cat….she likes the breeze in her long hair 🙂 As long as you are aware it’s not going to cool down a room, it really does help as a personal cooling machine. With temps of 105 ish outside this is a welcome device to keep the air moving inside. The new one is easier to see the water line. I keep the boxes and store the Arctic Air in a shed for the rest of the year.

    Works like a charm

I like that it’s small but didn’t realize it was this small. I bought it as a gift so I won’t know for now if it’s effective. The reviews are good so I am hoping it’s effective.

This is a great cooler!! It works especially well if you’re at your office desk and it feels a little warm in your office. I get hot easily so my need for cool air is constant. I work with someone and we share a desk; but it only cools me and doesn’t effect the other person. I reiterate what has been said before; it will not cool off a whole room. In general, it works well if you are going to be sitting or just being in one place for a long period of time such as a desk or maybe watching TV. Although the information on the product says you don’t have to refill it for 10 hours; I’ve noticed that every 4 to 5 hours it gets a little low and I have to put a little more water in it. But, due to the size, obviously the water requirements are very light. A small to medium-sized cup usually serves the purpose.Another feature not mentioned in the info of this product is that it can run on a power bank. It uses a USB C connection; so, if you either don’t have easy access to an outlet or want to see if you can save electricity, just purchase a USB cable with a USB C connection that will plug into a power bank. Of course, there is the wall adapter option as well.A third up side is the ability to remove the cartridge, soak with water and chill it in your freezer. There is a noticeable increasing in cooling when I do this. I would recommend it as long as you remember that it will only cool off a small space such as your desk or your bed.

  13. Daniel Brown

Wish it had cooled more if you are sitting 6inches away you won’t feel it at all

At first this thing seemed too good to be true. It cooled down the room I rent (20’ square). However it seriously lost effectiveness after about 1.5 weeks of continuous use. It still works, however I need to take measures to make sure it runs enough. My insert stopped absorbing water and now I keep it out as it’s just an obstruction. It’s also possible the water valve isn’t working or is clogged. The insert can be frozen which only takes 1 hour or less. Unfortunately the frozen insert only lasts about an hour or so often less. You can buy extra inserts but their overpriced at $15 for only 4. If they were 8 fir the price I’d buy em. If you had 9 abd kept rotating out the inserts it could work. What’s frustrating is it looks like there’s room for a bigger insert that would work way better. They should improve it by using a bigger one much more surface area. All in all you definitely get your money’s worth in my opinion. It seems to be holding strong and I can’t complain. However the original performance was about 15% better and I think with a few tweaks this product could deliver that. Still a good buy. I would have zero complaints if my AC was broken!!!

Okay.. first off.. it’s not an a/c unit, there is no freon, no condenser.. it’s a super effective fan. Soak and freeze the included filter and you get super cold air. There was a lot of condensation during the first use, the first full tank of water, after that smooth sailing. I live in Phoenix, Arizona.. it’s hot and dry here. This summer has gone on forever. I use this primarily at night, the cooling mist adds a touch of humidity to the air, and lowers the temperature of my room about 10 degrees. I had 2 of these on our back patio, for years, adding chilled water a frozen filter and some ice cubes and we could sit there and comfortably watch a movie or hockey game after even in the summer. The fan isn’t whisper quiet, but it’s not super loud either. I can comfortably sleep with it on my nightstand with it bothering me. Great value for the price.

I just got this item today and I read the instructions and filled the reservoir about 3/4 full and wet down the filter. I haven’t frozen the filter yet because I’m going to see if it lasts for however long it does to give you an idea of its capabilities. I have it on in a 12 x 8 foot bedroom in a trailer at a friend’s place who is letting me stay with him and his wife till my place is finished. Temperature has been in the high 80s to mid 90s. They have central air but doesn’t always run, so parts of the day it is 79+ in here and other times it’s 72/73. I paid for this on July 1st and was promised delivery by July 3rd. It is July 5th and it finally arrived by UPS. The thing said 1Z in the tracking number and said was coming USPS. I contacted the local post office and they said that is not their tracking number and I finally was updated that it was coming ups and had just been shipped on the 3rd.Long story short they take your money and wait forever to ship it making it late.It is a small unit but seems to do the job. I have it on Turbo mode and the room air feels more cooler just using it without an additional fan.It feels like an air conditioning unit breeze on turbo and the coolness on my arm is chilling.I am sitting about 2 feet from it with the vent pointing toward the ground. (I know hot air rises cold air falls.) Had it pointing up at my face to begin with. Maybe subconsciously I did that because it was too cool. Anyways the colors are decent and you can turn them off if they bother you. The instructions are really simple and easy to follow. Had this up and running within 5 minutes. Finding the filter, dampening it putting it back. Plugging it in and fooling around with each control button to familiarize myself with what each does. Pretty decent little gadget so far. Was $43 with tax.I bought 2 more arctic air fans from the ones shown on TV. If they ever deliver them and I get into my own trailer I will be able to stay cool relatively cheaper than running a window unit or central air.I also bought a Chillwell 2.0 air product which is rechargeable and that’ll help also.Overall I’ve given it 5 stars because it works better than the reviews that say don’t buy.Must’ve not passed 3rd grade reading level to follow the instructions Plug it in, wet the filter, fill the tank and turn it on.Enjoy!P.S. This is my honest opinion and not a issue for the seller. It’s my experience with the product and what it’s uses are for for me and those interested in getting relief from the heat.Edit 158 am July 6th. Woke up and refilled the tank and rewet the filter and have it on Turbo mode. My 7 year old cat 🐈 is enjoying the cool air produced by this gadget. It is getting cooler in here again and I am about to lay back down and head to sleep with this blowing on me from a desktop facing me on the bed. Here is something importantIf you don’t fill the water tank all the way full it doesn’t leak water. IT DOESN’T LEAK.MAYBE IF YOU DIDNT PUT SO MUCH WATER IN IT IT WOULD NOT LEAK!?!ENJOYING 😉

When you can’t afford another room air conditioner or central air conditioning and it’s over 90 degrees outside, this relatively inexpensive option works to keep you cool. Put it on a table and direct its cooling air towards you as you work or play on media. It’s fairly quiet and the only downside so far is that it sometimes drips water – we just put ours on top of a small dishtowel just in case. And it certainly is portable, so you can take it with you from room to room.

Ok so first I think I need to set the stage for what I wanted this for. I run extremely hot compared to my family and I often feel murderously hot and has become convinced that this so called family actually hates me and meets at night to plot how to melt me into a puddle. I’m talking heat and a space heater hot. Cruel right? They similarly urge me to seek medical attention for my desire for a crisp 73 degrees in the winter and I had begun to think that maybe I was better off work my fluffy pup who loves air as much as I do. For surely love does not revolve around attempted murder. I’m not even at a fair lady’s age yet and the amount of times I’ve run outside gasping for a cool breeze from the dry sauna they call a home is excessive. Until this bad boy came along. I did not buy it to cool a space, and it’s actually preferred to not cool too far into the blissful heated bubble of the others. I got it to cool me and me alone and man does it do that. I can now sit and watch a movie and sleep with a smile and love the people I call family again. If you’re a woman of that age or just run hot too, BUY THIS! I’m actually about to buy another one so I don’t have to cart it up and downstairs all day. I don’t even freeze the filter every time and am cool as a philly in September. 🙏🏾

I have a very small room, I only use the lowest setting because it gets too noisy

I’ve seen some of the other reviews complaining this little evaporative cooler fan isn’t blasting cold air…well jeez, for $40, you’re not going to get central air conditioning. I set mine on my patio table (here in hot sunny Arizona), keep the dampened cooler pad grid in the freezer so it can chill, grab a cup of ice cubes and a bit of water, pour into to the top of the unit, install the frozen pad grid, and turn it on. It doesn’t put out really cold air, just cooler air. It has an adjustable vent so you can aim it up or down. It’s not all that quiet, especially in ‘Turbo’ mode, but not an issue outside for me. I do understand some reviewers mentioning the lighting issue (because they are trying to use this to help them sleep). Even with all the LED light options turned OFF, the power and mode LEDs (amber), still stay lit, and shine through the plastic housing. Duct tape should resolve that. Overall, I didn’t expect greatness from this little box, but it does beat a regular desktop fan (and my outdoor ceiling fan) that just blows hot air around. It doesn’t take up a lot of space, and the small Micro-USB cable doesn’t get in the way, or become difficult to manage. Arctic…no, cool breeze….sure. Long lasting…only until the ice cubes melt and the pads dry out, but by then, I’m ready to head back indoors for more ice, and a cocktail refill. Cheers!

Been using it for a couple days. Info inside said for best results to soak and freeze the filter, fill the tank with ice and top off with water. Is it an air conditioner? No. Is it a cold air blower thing? Yes. You’re not going to cool your house with it by any means, but maybe make your cubicle/office a little nicer. Our bedroom gets all the south facing light in the day, so it’s the warmest room in the house. This just gives the house air con and ceiling fan a little help. I think it could work great for an outside pet, esp if you had a spare filter to keep in the freezer. The ice in the tank melts pretty quick, so we used fridge cold water and ice last night. That was a little better. It’s nice, just don’t expect a miracle. Way better than those dumb neck fans.

  22. Mark Jones

I was a little skeptical of this product, but it works. It won’t cool an entire room as claimed but it is a good personal AC unit, just keep it close to you and follow directions. Using ice and freezing the cartridge definitely helps.

Update pat it about what a month now, The little black rings that hold those air water dispenser valves just literally started crumbling and falling apart quit pushing air through those little diaphragms I’m mad at myself for buying this Don’t do what I did. Purchased one, notice it wasn’t as cool as what I thought it should be. Noticed one of the two misters wasn’t working. Blue on it with a straw. ((Be careful doing that it’s a diaphragm)) missed started to occur. Added one tablespoon of simple Green. Fill the water to just below the Arctic air symbol on the front. Let it run. Simple Green cleaned up the diaphragm and works perfect. Still don’t think it’s worth $30 maybe $20 but hey what can I say. A little bit of manipulation and it works good. Run some simple Green through it to clean that diaphragm with water. At least once a week if you use high calcification water.

I’m my mom’s caregiver, and she’s elderly and disabled and has a heart condition that requires her to take medication that makes her feel hotter than normal, especially when she’s asleep. The LED light is pretty awesome too, she uses it as a nighttime light to help her see her stuff on her bedside table if she wakes up in the middle of the night. Some of the reviews mentioned a need for a pan or drip catcher, but I live in the swamps and it’s a really humid environment, and so far I’ve not needed to put one beneath the device. The thing is lightweight, effective and easy to use, and I’m getting another one for my kids’ room as well, since they’re both constantly going on about how hot they are (even in winter!). Both my sons and mom use this year round, as we live in a very hot and humid climate, it’s made it much easier to keep my mom’s room (9’x11’x12’) cool in conjunction with our HVAC system. No way would we be able to even survive this climate without an actual air conditioner, considering that a normal day in January is a nice warm spring day anywhere else, but this is definitely a good compliment to give the system a break from its constant use. Basically, it is fantastic for a small desk or bedside table fan with a pretty hefty evaporator cooler packed into the 7”x7”x7” cube. I had a similar thing in college some 20 years ago, and it was clunky and didn’t work well; but the technology has developed quite nicely and into a small, well made machine. And for the price, it’s definitely worth it.

I’m 52, and experiencing severe heat flashes, especially during my morning routine.I purchased this for my bathroom with the sole purpose of keeping me cool while getting ready in the morning, and that’s exactly what this does!

  26. John Johnson

Definitely helps cooling a smaller area! Make sure to read instructions and use ice and freeze filter!!

  27. Laura Miller

I bought this for my nightstand because of menopause symptoms ( night sweats) keeping me up. The cartridge that produces the cold air is great, but causes the unit to leak. I stopped using the cartridge and just use it as a bedside fan which is still helpful.
